Full Stack Engineer (Frontend-leaning, Vue.js Specialist)

The Full Stack Engineer (Frontend-leaning, Vue.js Specialist) will join one of our forward-deployed pods, building applications that power critical programs such as Medicaid, WIC, SNAP, SunBucks, FMNP, and TANF. This role contributes directly to the delivery of technology solutions that enable measurable program outcomes for millions of residents.

This is an individual contributor role where you will design, develop, and deliver software in collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers. Your work will focus primarily on frontend development using Vue.js, with opportunities to contribute to backend services in Python/Django.

This role is based in Utah with a hybrid remote/in-office schedule. Candidates must be able to pass background checks as required by federal and state contract requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Frontend Development
    • Build and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications with Vue.js as the primary framework.
    • Translate design requirements and user workflows into polished, accessible, and performant interfaces.
    • Ensure consistency, maintainability, and scalability across the frontend codebase.
  • Full Stack Contribution
    • Integrate Vue.js applications with backend services built on Python/Django and Django Rest Framework.
    • Write and consume secure RESTful APIs, ensuring smooth data flows between systems.
    • Collaborate with backend specialists to enhance overall system performance and reliability.
  • AI and Efficiency
    • Leverage the latest AI tools (such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to accelerate development and enhance productivity.
    • Demonstrate curiosity and passion for applying AI to improve engineering processes and internal workflows.
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of AI-powered tooling that increases team efficiency and accelerates delivery.
  • Collaboration and Delivery
    • Partner with product managers, designers, and customer-facing teams to ensure features align with program and resident needs.
    • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives to uphold quality and team alignment.
    • Deliver high-quality, tested, and well-documented code on schedule.
  • Security, Compliance, and Reliability
    • Follow secure coding practices in compliance with HIPAA, SOC-2, and other standards.
    • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring for resilient deployments.
    • Ensure solutions meet high standards of reliability, accessibility, and scalability.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Frontend Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience with Vue.js
  • Full Stack Knowledge: Familiarity with Python/Django and backend service development.
  • UI/UX: Strong ability to implement design into functional, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
  • APIs: Experience building and integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Testing & Quality: Familiarity with frontend testing and automation frameworks
  • AI Familiarity: Comfort with tools like Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT and a demonstrated passion for using AI to enhance efficiency and build new capabilities.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • DevOps/Cloud (nice to have): Exposure to AWS, Docker, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Compliance Awareness (nice to have): Experience working in regulated industries like government, healthcare, or finance and delivering ADA compliant software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
